七夕まで、WEST:2-Cではアーティストエンドウ・リサさんの初展示が行われています。
Ending July 7th (Tanabata), it's artist Risa Endou's first public exhibition:
「DUCA]
何でも上手く出来るエンドウ・リサさんはハンドメイドアクセサリー・ニットウエア・イラストを
展示・販売しています。
Risa Endou, an artist with a capable hand at nearly everything, is both exhibiting and selling handmade accessories, knitwear and illustrations in showroom 2C of the gallery's West building.
アーティストさんに「学校でニットウエアを学びましたか？」
と訊くと、返答に驚きました。
I asked if she had learned how to design knitwear at school, and received an answer I hadn't expected:
「祖父が教えてくれました。小さいころから作っています。」
"My grandmother taught me how to knit when I was a child, and I've been doing it ever since."
勉強や仕事と関係なく、好きなことだから作っているそうです。
素晴らしい♪
Rather than designing for work or school, she creates out of pure love for it.
And that is so cool ♪
「どれぐらいかかりますか？１週間ぐらいでしょうか？」と訊くと、
ボレロは１日だけで出来たそうです。
I asked how long it usually takes for her to knit a piece, assuming something like a week, and she said it took her a day to start and finish the cream and red shrug.
１日だけでここまで綺麗で、精緻なものを作られるなんて信じられません。
It's almost unbelievable that she's able to create such gorgeous, detailed work in a single day.
プロだ！
と思いましたが、今回が初出展です。
I thought she must be a professional, but today is her first exhibition!
そして、綺麗で着たいニットウエアだけではなくて、
この展示ではオリジナルデザインで手作りアクセサリも展示販売しています。
She is not only a designer of beautiful knit clothing that I want to wear, but those who attend this exhibition will also be able to see and purchase her originally designed, handmade accessories.
カワイイネックレスやピアスなどなど、どれも美しいニットウエアと似合います。
The adorable necklaces suit her knit piece perfectly, without a doubt.

And that's not all, as she also has some of the cutest illustrations on display ♪
