日本のアニメーションをはじめサブカルチャーにインスピレーションを受けたというインドネシアのアーティスト４名によるイラスト作品展が開催中！
2年前、来日したときに偶然デザインフェスタギャラリーを見つけたことをきっかけに、
今回の展示を企画したという代表のRukmunal Hakimさん。
今回出展する4名は、それぞれインドネシアを拠点に活動するアーティスト。
もともとは別々に活動していたそうですが、SNSを通じて出会ったアーティスト仲間だそうです。
4名それぞれの作品を一部ご紹介します！

『‘Singgah’ group exhibition.』
Speaking of inspirations, these group of artists definitely has a big chemistry for Japan; from its traditional culture to the pop-contemporary culture. A huge mark of the Japanese traditions always existed in each of their works. Elfandiary, Kemasacil, Riandy Karuniawan and Rukmunal Hakim, are also a big fan of manga and anime. It has never been apart from their life since they were kids. Thus, those visual references influenced their artworks.
In the creation process, there are many other visual references that gradually shifted or mixed with their other references. "Singgah," is an exciting effort for them to remember and to look a bit backward; as a remembrance that the special place in their heart for Japan is always there. The exhibition will be held in Tokyo, the exact origin place of their inspirations. They will also open a communication space with the local audiences, to build a conversation of the mixed cultural artworks they are showing in “Singgah”.
