PHYSICAL GRAFFITI
PHYSICAL GRAFFITI
When you read through the exhibition concept that they'd provided, this line stands out in particular:
"This time, the concept is 'The message we want to communicate'.
The message we want to communicate.
Awesome!
Welcome to the PHYSICAL GRAFFITI photography exhibition!
Taking pictures for this blog post was even more challenging than usual, given the amount of visitors, and thus even more enjoyable ♪
Let's start off with photography Lilie's (Photographer Blog, Flickr, Twitter) fantastic canvas photograph displays:
At a glance you can't tell if it's an oil painting or a photograph, but you know it's awesome.
I want to cover the walls of my apartment in her canvas photos♪
Looking on to the next display, we see photography by kikuike (Camera Talk Page, Lomography Page) and SNOW.
And they are absolutely stunning!
(On the bottom we have an amazing flower field shot by SNOW, with beach scenes, above, by kikuike)
And kikuike has arranged something that made me smile when I saw it:
Of course the photographer has provided their own name and the title of the work, but they've also listed the type of camera they used, the type of film and the place where the pictures were taken.
Given how rare film photographers are these days it makes sense that they would want to advertise their use of a film camera, but going so far as to add the exact location of the shots is very beneficial to other people who might be aspiring to take similarly fantastic photos.
That is the wonderful, helpful world of photographers♡
Arranged in the style of polaroids from the past, only six shots--one from each column--are arranged to stand out upon the canvas.
Why those six in particular? Is there some connection between them? Or not?
Is there not some kind of story being told here?
A display that makes you think♪ The best kind ♪
I am also especially fond of photographer Oyama Sachiro's diplay.
The photographs have been printed on washi paper and mounted on the wall with clothespins.
The pictures themselves are, of course, fantastic ♪
But they become twice as fantastic with the effort the photographer has put into carrying the atmosphere through to the view via their display.
The more I look at these pictures from the exhibition, the more I realize that the photographers of the PHYSICAL GRAFFITI exhibition are really, really talented with display design!
Photographer koto's medium of choice is a T-shirt!!
With fantastic imagery, of course!
But if you're a fan of more traditionally display photography, then...!
